Integrated Systems of Management

The subject deepends the knowledge and understanding of philosophy of quality managementu system according ISO 9001 and of environmental management system according ISO 14001 in construction firm. The student will gain the basic knowledge of safety management according OHSAS 18001.
The student get the acquaitance of the priciples of integration of these systems on the basis of equal requirements from these standards and will learn the basic techniques for implementing IMS in construction firm.

Course curriculum

1. Quality management system as the basis of Integrated Management System (for short „IMS“) in construction firm. The analysis of requirements of standard ČSN EN ISO 9001.
2. Environmental management system according ČSN EN ISO 14001. Analysis of requirements of this standard. Connection of these requirements to requirements from standard ISO 9001.
3. Basic information about safety management system according OHSAS 18001 in construction firm. Practical link to realization procedures of construction firm.
4. Interconnection between „quality“, „environment“ and „safety“ in IMS of construction firm. The examples of implementation of „integrated solution“ of requirements from these indivudiual standards.
5. The documents and records control as the basis of effective integrated system. The examples of controlled documents and records in construction firm.
6. Management commitment according the IMS requirements in construction firm. The practise of the „process access“.
7. The creation of documents for practical control of „Product Realization“ in IMS.
8. Environmental system implementation according environmental legislation ČR and environmental aspects of the construction firm. Inter-connection of the partial processes of realization of IMS to the environmental and safety requirements.
9. Practical procedures of internal audits of IMS, the certifikacation of IMS.
10. The principle of continuous improvement in IMS. The different effects of individual systems. Practical examples of applying of this principle based on monitoring and analysis in construction firms. Economic aspects of IMS.

The main objective of the subject it is to deepen knowledge of particular management systems and to show the principle and the reason of connection of particular systems into the functional unified management system.
