Learning outcomes of the course unit

Basic knowledge of circuits in harmonic steady state, usage of RC, RL and RLC resonant circuits, three-phase networks, transients in linear circuits and transmission lines as preparation for the study in following courses.
Qualification level in electrical engineering "competent worker".

Prerequisites

The subject knowledge on the secondary school education level is requested.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Total number of points is 100, including 2 x 15 points in two written tests in exercises and 10 points in credit test. All laboratory measurements are obligatory - to obtain credit it is necessary to measure all of laboratory exercises including 2 model projects.
Requirements for completion of a course are: to gain credit and to perform an exam. Minimal necessary achieved total mark is 50 points.

Course curriculum

Work placements

Not applicable.

Aims

The course develops the knowledge gained in EL1 (Electrical Engineering 1) in the 1st term of study and prepares the students for following courses of specializations in electrical engineering. Laboratory measurements and numerical exercises help in verifying theory taught in lectures.
In last week students will be examined to obtain qualification level "competent worker".

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The content and forms of instruction in the evaluated course are specified by a regulation issued by the lecturer responsible for the course and updated for every academic year.
