Computer methods in High Power Engineering

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will get knowledge of available PC applications for practical utilization in engineering problems with stress to electrical engineering: computer assisted publishing, methods and technical tools for data acquisition, transfer and analysis. Students will be able to use software packages for technical data analysis and presentation. They also learn how to use ANSYS package in solution of problem in power electrical engineering.

The subject knowledge on the secondary school education level is requested.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

2 written tests (60 pts max), 2 projects (40 pts max).

Aims

Taking up of basic ideas on computer assisted prepartion of technical documentation. Getting a clear view of automatic data acquisition, transfer and analysis. Acquirement of the proper ways of measured data presentations. Getting a basic knowledge of ANSYS package and using FEM in power electrical engineering.
