Practical exercises in information networks

The subject is oriented to practical applications of passive and active nework components. Gives an overview of connector and cable types used in computer networks and an introduction to the prblematics of connectoring. The second part of the subject is oriented to basic types of active network components including installation and configuration of common network interfaces, hubs, switches and routers.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

With completion of the subject students acquire basic overview about passive and active network elements and about thier advantages and disadvantages. They also acquire practical experience incuding connectoring network cables and installation of network interfaces and components.

The subject knowledge on the secondary school level is required.

Aims

The aim of the subject is to provide basic introduction to problematics of information networks. The subject is oriented to practical exercises about using passive and active network elements and installation and configuration of network interfaces and active network components.
