Course curriculum

Substations in power system, nominal voltage and a operation mode of electrical networks
Scheme of basic substation circuit - their features and use, operation manipulation in substation, apparatus blocking
HV MV LV switchgear - outdoor, gas-insulated, auxiliary control panel and control center substation - version and operating features
Cable line - construction and marking, electric features of cables, conductors designing and protection
Overhead line - mechanical features of hanging wires, overhead line parameter calculation, wires for overhead line, poles, insulators and armatures, safety zone

Aims

Make students familiar with equipment and technologies used for electric power distribution as well as the basic methods of the designing of the equipment.

1. Introduction - substations in power system, nominal voltage and a operation mode of electrical.
2. Scheme of basic substation circuit - scheme alternative, dividing scheme according to the number and sort of busbar.
3. Scheme of basic and auxiliary branch - their features and use, group structure of branch operation.
4. Operation manipulation in substation - apparatus blocking.
5. HV substation - outdoor substation, gas-insulated, auxiliary control panel and control center.
6. MV substation - version and operating features.
7. Installed capacity of switchgears and transformer station - examples of calculation
8. Power station operation control - control system, its providing and abilities.
9. Overhead line - wires for overhead line, poles, insulators and armatures, safety zone.
10. Mechanic calculation of overhead line, climatic condition of calculation.
11. State equation - solution methods of state equation.
12. Cable line - construction and marking, electric features of cables, cable sets and accessories.
13. Power conductor protections - electrical protection against overload and short circuit current.

2. Conductors designing in respect to short-circuit current thermal effect.
3. Conductors designing in respect to short-circuit current mechanical effect.
3. Conductors protection in electric power distribution - overloading and short-circuit protection, assigning of protective elements.

1. Project of solid flat conductors according to dynamic influence of short-circuit current.
2. Solid flat conductor parameters influence on mechanic stress conductor - phase distance, support insulators distance, wire dimension.
3. Project of overhead line - various solution of state equation.
