Lighting systems

Problems about lighting systems, containing information about luminaires, its construction, materials, luminaire classification, its usage, design of reflection areas, lighting measurement, requirement from standards view, calculation of lighting systems, realization of lighting systems, working and maintenance, control and dimming.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Deeper knowledge from lighting theory, knowing of methods of lighting system design, knowledges required by lighting technian for control position in luminaire production, lighting systems design, lighting systems maintenance and working.

Photometry fundamentals, quantities, relations, units, luminous intenzity curves and areas, spheric angle, calculation of total flux of luminaire.
Funcitin and classification of luminaire, requirements from technician standard
Basic types of optical parts, design principles of optical, lighting active parts
Overview of the most common materials used for luminaire construction
Lighting sources for luminaires. Luminaire requirement for given light sources. Electrical accesory and basic construction elements. Luminaire warming
Luminaire protection before polution and dangerous touch voltage. Luminaire Classification according to construction and usage.
Lighting measurement of luminares. Data formats used for exchange of photometric parametrs of luminaires
Legislative for lighting technology, Laws and directives, standards, introduction with hygienic supervising problematic
Daylight of building, problems of combination artifical and daylight lighting
Lighting systems calculation and design, computer systems application
Lighting systems working, Maintenance and revision of electric lighting systems.
Basic principles of lighting systems control, modern concept of lighting control.
Control of lighting systems depend on daylight part of light. Inteligent control systems for lighting technology, computer controled systems.

Aims

Inform students about complex problems of lighting systems, comprise all of the most common aspects from luminaires to lighting systems control, its regulation, working and maintenance.
