Distribution and industry networks

Distribution and industrial installation problems oriented to the operation and fault modes, design of protection system and evaluation of negative effects on MV network. Students gain basic information about security of supply evaluation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Calculation of protection setting, solution of transient phenomena - overvolage, the starting of group of drivers. Evaluation of negative effects of industrial devices on electric energy quality and security of supply.

Prerequisites

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is requested.

Different network concepts in neutral point treatment terms.
Industrial and traction supply systems.
Distribution networks with local generation and their negative effects on energy quality.
Distribution lines protections against overvoltage and overcurrent.
Remote control, measuring and information transport.
Electrical network reliability.

Aims

Aim of this subject is getting at the basic knowledge of designing, technology and operation modes of industrial and distribution installations.
