Abstract:Spin waves have the potential to play a key role in modern information technology as they can carry information with minimal energy losses. In order to implement spin-wave based devices in logic circuits, it is necessary to miniaturize these components. For this purpose, short-wavelength spin waves and efficient methods to excite them are needed. This bachelor thesis deals with the method of excitation of spin waves by parametric pumping. It discusses the theory needed to understand this issue, and most importantly it captures the process of plannig and performing an experiment. A sample with nano-antennas suitable for parametric pumping of short-wavelength spin waves was designed and fabricated for the experiment. Measurement results on this sample confirm the presence of parametrically pumped spin waves and show their dependence on the frequency and amplitude of the excitation field. This work contributes to expanding our understanding of parametric pumping of spin waves and will be followed by further research utilizing the results obtained in this work.
