Profile

Study branch Building Structures is due to its complex content divided into four topics: Building Structure, Architecture in Building Structure, Technology and building process control, Building Services. The study is focused on knowledge in building structures and on education to self-scientific work oriented to specific professional areas of particular topic. Deepening of knowledge and abilities in complex and theoretical approach to technical problem solving and justification will be supported during mathematics and physics lectures. Managing theoretical and scientific disciplines which are related to thesis is ensured by passing selected obligatory lectures. Student is solving under guidance of his supervisor given professional problem according to theoretical and experimental requirements and defends results in his thesis. A graduate of PhD program, branch Building Structures is prepared for expected fulfillment of research and development process in selected area of the industry. Due to acquired knowledge he is capable of self-assertion to solve challenging architectural and constructional problems, technology and management of building realization, building services. The continuous active scientific activity is the qualification for possible engagement of graduates as members of the academic staffs at universities.

    The topic of the dissertation is a comprehensive analysis of the possibility of increasing the flat roofs retention capacity and drainage modification factors. The work will authenticate using full-scale experiments.

  2. Vliv tapet a dřevěných obkladů na pohodu prostředí v interiéru.

    Wall papers and wooden facings were used in historical buildings and are also used in modern buildings. From material point of view leather, cloth, paper plastic and wooden finishings are known. Wooden finishing is completed in many ways from traditional wooden varnishing to artificial boards. Influence of the mentioned finishings on indoor climate comfort in positive and possible negative effects and thermal insulation of the building envelope are the main tasks for the disertation.

    Due to increasing energy consumption, the need for sustainable construction and directive of EU is necessary to design structures in passive houses, in order to reduce energy consumtion and improving the internal environment.

  2. Aerosol pollution living organisms in airconditioning systems and their protection

    The work will deal with analysis and subsequent design measures to avoid pollution of HVAC systems, their implementation and subsequent use. The work will multivariate analysis according to types of systems and psychrometric air adjustments. The analysis will also be monitoring the impact of pollution on the hydraulics system. Methods solutions are theoretical and experimental, the result will be clear methodological outputs for use in practice.

    The dissertation is focused on the architectural conservation.   6. Building Services in Historical Buildings

    Building services systems that create the quality of indoor environments in historical buildings, were linked with the optimal design of the building and use natural laws. The topic includes a research of systems of heating and ventilation systems in historic buildings, analysis, model creation, simulation of behavior, experimental measurements and determination of recommendations and guidelines for renovation and monument renewal.

    The topic of the thesis will be a comprehensive analysis of the behavior of reinforced masonry and mixed structures from the point of view of structural design, thermal and fire assessment.

    The topic of the dissertation is a comprehensive proposal for prefabricated wooden buildings. Part of the design of the structures in terms of static design, the thermal and fire resistance.

    This work focuses on the design and optimization of prefabricated green facades. The work includes a comprehensive verification of the various parts of the green facade of a full-scale experiments.

  10. Development of rheological models of composite from recycled polymers

    With the possibility of the use of composites from recycled polymers, such as thermal insulation block, there is a need to modify and improve existing rheological models. The development of models is depending on the way stress. The pressure stress is for that group of materials specifically load. Development models will be made on the basis of experimental prototypes monitoring the test samples with subsequent verification of FEA mathematical modeling.

  11. Energy assessment of technological units

    Energy assessment of of technological units (eg. wastewater treatment plants, spa technology, technology of winter stadiums). Analysis of the technological processes, the description of a theoretical model of operation, the analysis of boundary conditions, sensitivity analysis, the potential energy savings, benchmarking components of the system, the evaluation criteria and utilization of renewable energy.

  13. Evaluation and design of new solutions to improve acoustic properties of existing systems timber structures.

    Current systems of wooden buildings in therms of accoustic are resolved satisfactory for perimeter structures. The aim is to analyze the acoustic properties of internal structures and make any adjustments of layers composition to achieve the best acoustic comfort in living spaces

  14. Ground-coupled Heat systems for Heating and Cooling of Buildings

    PhD thesis focuses on the research use of land for energy for heating and cooling. The scope of work will be theoretical and experimental investigation of the thermal interaction between an building and ground and an optimal design of ground and foundation exchangers. The aim is to streamline obtaining geothermal energy of the elements of foundation structures and to develop a methodology for their design in the Czech Republic.

    The aim of the work is the search for optimal way of modifying the original substrate for the new finishes , including thermal insulation composite system. The idea is to find a appropriate solutions and define the conditions under which it would not need to go through the laborious removal of the original plaster and replacing them with new ones. It will be dealt also with regard to the efficient use of financial cost and effort.

  27. Proposed measures to reduce the risk of degradation of mummies .

    Suitable geological composition of the soil in the basement of the church and unusually ingenious system of air vents allow the natural mummification of the dead, who were buried here. Within a few renovations, the original vents were damaged or submerged. Currently, several mummies damaged by microorganisms. The scope of work is to design measures to correct internal environment and the restoration of the original suitable microclimate. When the work will be used modern diagnostic methods and numerical models.

  29. Research of elements and systems of buildings services

    Research of elements and systems of buildings services as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) will be conducted in order to achieve a thermal comfort in buildings at the minimum operating energy consumption. HVAC systems research will focus on optimizing of their design and operation with the use of low-potential thermal energy sources. The research will be conducted in its theoretical part by development of new mathematical-physical models, and by laboratory experiments and in situ measurements in an experimental part.

  35. The efficiency of technical equipment in buildings

    Requirements for reducing energy consumption in buildings evoke the need to increase the efficiency of technical systems. The study will be focused on the theoretical evaluation of the effectiveness of European standards and guidelines on monitoring existing systems and experimental determination of their efficacy. The expected result will also be the identification of ways to increase the efficiency of modern systems engineering environment.

    The work is focused on monitoring and subsequent evaluation of physical and technical properties of applied materials, thermal insulation systems of building envelopes when exposed to external environmental influences. From the test results will be verified durability of the materials and new solutions will be proposed and recommendations for restoration and repairs.

    The work deals with the methodology of the pressure loss of air ducts with a view to more instability detection behavior of HVAC systems. This is especially practical usage often unsolvable problem in real traffic pressure difference between inlet and outlet air ducts. Part of the work will be theoretical and experimental methods to solve a clear methodological outputs for use in practice. As theoretical methods will be used mathematical modeling of pressure loss pipelines.
