Branch Details
FEKTAbbreviation: MN-ESTAcad. year: 2012/2013
Programme: Electrical, Electronic, Communication and Control Technology
Length of Study: 2 years
Accredited from: Accredited until: 20.7.2015
Profile
This branch of study aims to educate MSc graduates – electronics engineers with a profound knowledge of theory, design, construction, application and measurement of electronic circuits, systems and signal processing in diverse areas of light-current electronics with a strong orientation towards radio communications. The scope of study ranges from low-frequency, high-frequency and microwave technology to optical waves, from analogue and digital signals and systems to microprocessor and microcomputer circuits and systems. The offer of optional courses along with an individual technical project and the thesis enable students to focus more closely on the area of circuits and systems of radio communication and navigation – stationary, mobile, terrestrial and satellite systems, instrumentation electronics, audio and video technology, and also on the creation, analysis and processing of multimedia signals and data. The graduates of this study area find employment in research, development, construction and operation of highly sophisticated light-current electronic appliances used broadly, above all in communication and navigation services and systems, in operation of radio, television and other electronic media services. In all these areas, graduates may also assume higher executive and management positions. A profound knowledge of theory and a broad scope of applications-oriented study ensure high adaptability of graduates to specific requirements of their future professions, also in other areas of electronics and electrical engineering.
Key learning outcomes
The graduates dispose of wide knowledge in the theory, design, construction and applications of electronic circuits, systems and signal processing in various areas of small-power electronics with the main orientation into the wireless communication techniques. The area of the knowledge extends from the range of audio frequency techniques through high frequency- and microwave techniques up to the range of optical waves, from analog signals, devices and systems through the digital- up to microprocessor- and microcomputer circuits and systems with great attention to their applications in radiocommunication services and technology. The graduates are qualified in many specialized areas of radioengineering and wireless communication and navigation techniques - stationary, mobile, terrestrial or satellite, instrumental electronics, audio and video techniques, and multimedial signal analysis and processing. In all of this branches they are able to apply efficiently and to exploit effectively modern computing, measuring and automation techniques. Owing to wide fundamentals of the study branch there is ensured high adaptability of the graduate for most the requirements of his future practice. The graduates of the branch can be applied in research, development, construction, design, and applications of high-quality electronic equipment in a wide spectrum of electronic institutions, mainly in the branch of communication, navigation, and data transmission services and systems, in the range of broadcasting and TV techniques. In all of this branches they are able to work also as the technical-managers in industry and services.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
The graduates have a profound knowledge of theory, design, construction, application and measurement of electronic circuits, systems and signal processing in diverse areas of light-current electronics with a strong orientation towards radio communications. Their knowledge ranges from low-frequency, high-frequency and microwave technology to optical waves, from analogue and digital circuits, signals and systems, to microprocessor and microcomputer circuits and systems. The graduates are qualified in radioelectronics, radio communication and navigation – stationary, mobile, terrestrial and satellite systems, instrumentation electronics, sound and video technology, the creation, analysis and processing of multimedia signals and data. Thanks to a profound knowledge of theory and a broad scope of applications-oriented study high adaptability of graduates to specific requirements of their future professions is ensured, also in other areas of electronics and electrical engineering. The graduates find employment in research, development, construction and operation of highly sophisticated light-current electronic appliances used broadly, above all in communication and navigation services and systems, in radio, television and other electronic media services. In all these areas, they can may also assume higher executive and management positions.
