Jde o návrh projektu v prgramu MPO TRIO2, kde VUT v Brně je navrhovaným dalším účastníkem projektu. Uchazečem koordinátorem je společnost Profibaustoffe CZ, s.r.o.

The main objective of the project is to develop an advanced technique for bonding of large format tiles, i.e. wall and floor tiles, through an application of cement-based adhesive that is suitable for laying tiles with the thin-bed method. Wall and floor tiling has always occupied an irreplaceable place in the construction industry and it is no different nowadays. The extent of utility properties as well as all the benefits of ceramic tiles remain throughout the history almost the same however, the aesthetic demands are changing rapidly. Recently, it is possible to observe a significantly progressive increase in the popularity of large format tiles installation. Related and secondary aim of the project is a proposal of methodology for a selection of suitable cement-based adhesive mortar. The methodology has to be able to take into account even the most demanding requirements of the installation process with regard to the type and size of used tile material. The classification, conformity assessment and necessary requirements for use of cement based adhesives are stated in the technical standard ČSN EN 12004+A1:2015 however, this standard does not specify any particular requirements or techniques for usage of individual classes of mortars. Moreover, the mentioned standard is not considering the seal strength in shear, its dimensional stability during curing nor the density or modulus of elasticity of matured mortar eventhough these material properties, according to the latest results of applied research, can significantly influence the durability and effectivity of the safe installation as well as the decision making on where the relevant application will be used. So the manufacturers nor the tilers (craftsmen) who are using cement-based adhesives do not have any reliable instructions for selection of appropriate class of the material for the most challenging installations.
