O projektu

Greener economy electrical energy is becoming the most important energy form, while power electronics plays a dominant role in converting electricity to meet the fast growing supply, transmission and end user demands. The TRANSFORM strong consortium of relevant and experienced industry player, SME and RTOs is capable of delivering to these needs. Silicon Carbide (SiC) based power electronics has the potential to use electrical energy significantly 6% to 30% more efficient than current silicon-based semiconductors. TRANSFORM addresses the current and urgent needs for widespread adoption of SiC, while its ambitious goals are both of strategical and technical nature. TRANSFORM will strongly improve current SiC technologies and applications beyond the state-of-the-art to serve the large emerging markets for electric power conversion in renewable energies, mobility and industry. The main TRANSFORM result is a competitive, ready-to-be-industrialized technology.
