O projektu

The project aims to explore methods of analytic geometry for estimation of failure probability applicable in high-dimensional spaces of random variables. The motivation is to reduce the number of simulations by using topologic information, especially in cases, when evaluation of the performance function is time consuming and the simulation budget is limited. The project is partially inspired by recently developed segmentation approach (based on Voronoi tessellation & Delaunay triangulation) that has proved to be effective in reliability problems featuring few random variables.

Popis anglicky
The aim of the project is to create a competition for student research grants and its pilot verification. The creation of a new competition will contribute to the development of cross-sectional skills of doctoral students, and thus acquire competencies for work in science and research in the future and increase their success in submitting scientific projects to national and international competitions.
