Sustainable Design with Tradition Project follows almost 20 years of cooperation between Faculty of Mechanical Engineering BUT and Fachhochschule Salzburg GMBH. There were many workshops and lectures at the Czech and Austrian university in the past. The project was supported in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it could not be fully realized. The presented project follows on from successfully implemented projects. The aim of the project is to point out the ecological aspects of the product design. Within the workshop there are two excursions into the Czech companies (TON, Kovonax) where students are introduced to the manufacturing processes, functioning of the companies and their philosophies. Reached information are applicated into the design process during following four-day workshop.
