O projektu

Black phosphorous (BP), along with its single-layer counterpart phosphorene, belongs to the remarkable class of 2D materials, boasting numerous interesting properties such as thicknessdependent band gap, strong in-plane anisotropy, and high carrier mobility, rendering BP a promising candidate for future electronics applications. However, BP's inherent reactivity towards oxygen and moisture poses a significant challenge, hindering its widespread application without the protection of a capping layer made of other materials. In this project, we aim to address this challenge by employing magnetically bistable functional molecules known as single-molecule magnets (SMMs) as capping agents. These molecules will be utilized for BP passivation in two distinct manners. Firstly, the carefully selected types of Co(II) SMMs molecules will be functionalized with groups capable of forming non-covalent interactions with BP. Secondly, we will leverage BP's reactivity to attach SMMs via C-P and C-O-P covalent bonds. Passivated BP will be thoroughly examined for its stability and transport properties
