Three-dimensional (3D) freehand ultrasound is a new imaging technique, which is rapidly finding clinical applications. A position sensor is attached to a conventional ultrasound probe so that a set of two-dimensional (2D) B-scans, are acquired along with their relative positions and orientations. This allows to reconstruct a regular voxel array, from the set of irregularly placed in space B-scans, for visualisation and analysis. This text aims to represent and compare various techniques for the reconstruction of 3D freehand ultrasound data as published in literature.
