The paper presents the main issues we meet when implementing network Quality of Service (QoS) models in todays TCP/IP based network environments. It focuses on practical implementation of the differentiated and integrated services models in network applications and how these models adapt to the local network system. However, the main intention of the presented paper is to introduce software solutions for QoS guarantee. It brings solutions to Java, C, and C++ platforms. The co-operation with other well-known QoS mechanisms as well as location of the presented solution in TCP/IP layer reference model will also be briefly discussed.
