Anti-error coding systems (ACS), which in some modems for data transmission assure the reliability of modulation process, enable increasing significantly the transmission rate. But due to the development of the tools for realizing digital signal processing the complexity of ACS increases. Modems complying with V.29, v.32 and V.34 can be used for a comparison. The following text provides basic information that will make such a comparison possible.
