Vehicle crashes with multiple rollover involved belong to most severe kind of traffic accidents. Even with relatively low speed at the beginning of the rollover crash, there is often present the substantial deformation of the vehicle, especially of the roof. This is often the cause of severe injuries even in case of belted vehicle occupants. During the crash reconstruction, one of the main tasks is to determine speed at the beginning of the accident event. This case study presents one of the possible methods of calculating speed at the start of rollover, based on evidence documented at crash scene. There are two real traffic accidents presented in this paper, both caused by vehicle stability loss, followed by driving off the road. In both cases vehicles rolled over after leaving the road, alongside their longitudinal axes. Based on CzIDAS database, most common injuries in Czech Republic during vehicle rollover are head, spine and thorax injuries.
