Abstrakt
A sound pressure level meter for ultrasonic actuators (SPLM) based on NI's cRIO platform was developed. A rugged controller cRIO-9063 was used both to generate the input signal to the actuator and to sample the measured response. The SPLM implements a master-slave design pattern. A command, generated by an operator is sent to the RT system. RT then prepares a signal of a finite length of desired parameters and triggers the FPGA application, which passes the prepared signal to a Device Under Test (DUT) via its driver. The response of the ultrasonic transducer is measured by a G.R.A.S. pressure microphone and, if available, also the microphone of the DUT. The measured signal is first amplified and then sampled by the digitizer module. Results can be stored in TDMS file format. Additional application was developed to post-process the measured data. Multiple signal types are supported, such as sine, half-sine, square or sweep. Along the sweep signal, a sine signal with a defined frequency step can be generated as well. Amplitude, frequency, frequency change and duration of the generared signal are all user-defined. Additional part of the SPLM is the post-processing application, which can be used to review the measured data. This application calculates the spectral analysis of the measured data, or the sensitivity characteristics of the ultrasonic transducer (if connected). It can also display the sound pressure level response (SPL) of the transducer in tested frequency range.
