V roce 2002 došlo k synchronizaci legislativy ČR i SR s předpisy Evropské unie v oblasti emisích limitů vztahujících se na koncentrace znečišťujících látek obsažených ve spalinách vznikající při výrobě energie, jiných technologických procesech a při spalování odpadů.....

Thermal treatment processes used for disposal of municipal and industrial wastes are connected to the generation of persistent organic compounds, including species belonging into the dioxin group. The abatement of concentration of these species below the level prescribed by legislation demands supplementing of the technology by a dioxin removal stage. This contribution deals with a solution of the task of decreasing dioxin emission produced by municipal waste incinerator TERMIZO a.s., Liberec, the capacity of which is 96 000 t/r. The article presents some very good results of dioxin removal from flue gases, obtained during a long-term operation and showing residual dioxin content at levels even ten times lower than the emission limit applicable to these species.
