Parkinson's disease (PD), as the world's second most common disabling age-related disease has caused motor and non-motor symptoms such as mental and behavioral changes, sleep problems, depression, memory difficulties. In recent years, several advantages of microRNAs (miRNAs), including resistance to RNAase digestion, stability, and extreme situations in circulating fluids, have led to received enormous attention for the detection of various diseases. miR-153 is one of the high potential related biomarkers of PDs which regulate alpha-Synuclein expression levels. Here, a sensitive and selective electrochemical biosensor was developed to recognize of miR-153 in human plasma samples. For the first time, the surface of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was decorated with polychitosan (CS) and silver nanoprisms/graphene quantum dots/ cysteamine A (AgNPrs/GQDs-Cys A) ink for the excellent immobilization of DNA towards sensitive and selective monitoring of micRNA-153. The designed novel electrochemical biosensor could detect miR-153 by differential pulse voltammetry with a linear range of 6.25 mu M to 50 mu M, which low limit of quantification is 6.25 mu M. According to high selectivity, sensitivity, fast and easy operation this biodevice promising for clinical applications and high-throughput screening of PDs.
