The problem of damage localization is usually solved by the localization limiters. This paper shows inappropriate application of the model with dependent softening branch of stress - strain diagram into the finite element model of beam with material nonlinearities. The convenient application of this model and its other modifications leading to elimination of dependency results on the element size are presented.
