During teaching network technologies and network services are very important illustrative demonstrations of the basic network principles. This article deals with one of the alternatives how to appropriately apply an operating system Linux and his native attributes, possibly with suitable software addition. The article includes concrete examples of the role of operating system during communication in computer network.
