Originální abstrakt
The contribution describes a developed permanent magnet synchronous machine with a non-usual magnetic circuit geometry. The construction description, some theoretical calculations and practical measurement results are included. Using an axial flux geometry it is enabled to choose the winding cross-section independent on the cross-sections of the magnetic circuit elements. Further a segmental stator winding topology was used. Therefore there are no crossings of the coil overhands of all phase-windings each other. The main gain of this solution consists in a decreasing of the winding resistance losses enabled by a reduction of the winding wire length (volume). This destines the constructed machine for using in a small traction drive (a fuel cell electric vehicle in our application). The machine in this application operates often with a torque (current) overload and in this case the resistance losses are dominant ones. Their reduction brings an increasing of the vehicle action radius.
