Originální abstrakt
During the firing of brick bodies processes are occurring which cause remarkable changes of the brickmaking clays and lead to an incisive loss of their crystalline structure. Fine - particle, non- crystalline and rather reactive products of these reactions (for example metakaolinite) may react with other particles of the brickmaking body (for example CaO) to form stable crystalline minerals or remain as phases in the brick body, showing low stability under the influence of water. Their rehydratation is accompanied usually by an irreversible expansion of the clay material. In case of crashes of the Hurdis floors, the irreversible moisture expansion was regarded as a one from causes. Chief topics articles is examination possible connection between moisture expansivity of firing brick body and its so-called enclosure, Focal point of the paper is examination of possible connection between brickmaking body moisture expansivity and enclosure, that is transparent above all at lower firing temperature in connection with impermeability of clay roofing tiles body. It was judged two types of brickmaking clays used for production of clay roofing tiles in Czech Republic.
