Originální abstrakt
Modelling of flow over stepped chutes represents a complex problem. Detailed mathematical and dimensional analyses have shown that the flow is affected mainly by gravity, friction, and surface tension forces. So, requirements of dynamical similarity can be satisfied only on prototype (ML = 1). The paper describes practical application which was performed on two physical models of the Bystřička dam chute. Models were built in length scales ML = 10 and ML = 20. A scaling of measured and set parameters was made according to Froude criterion. Results from hydraulic research were compared with results from 2D numerical model of non-aerated turbulent incompressible flow k-?. The basic surveyed properties of flow were regimes of flow, position of the inception point, water and air-water levels and velocity profiles in the axis of the chute. Results of the research have shown that the aeration becomes much earlier in this case (the chute with low gradient of pseudo-bottom and with inlet from spillway channel) compared to published theory. Probable reasons of this effect are discussed closer.
