Originální abstrakt

The paper describes the main results of the ATM experimental network simulation (at the Department of Telecommunications) by the COMNETIII program. This simulation is suitable for designing and investigating new services (ISDN, etc.), for the optimization and testing of the possibilities of multimedia ATM network and for its optimum connection to the Brno university network. The transmission of different signals (voice signal, audiosignal, videoconference, data) by ATM cells is used. The results of the simulation and optimization of the network topology and of the network element parameters are tested in the experimental ATM network.
