Simulations of automotive castings solidification performed with the aid of the MAGMA and SIMTEC software were compared with temperature measurements. The differences between simulation and experiment are expressed in terms of temperature. In our work we were concerned with both a precise execution of experiments and the possibility of correcting the thermo-physical parameters.
