In dem vorliegenden Beitrag sind die Hauptergebnisse der Untersuchungen der Autorin zwischen Abiturienten der verschiedenen Mittelschulen zusammengefaßt, deren Hauptanliegen war, die Barrieren, die den Frauen bei ihrer Wahl eines technisch orientierten Studiums im Wege stehen, festzustellen und zu beschreiben.

The paper briefly presents the problems in the area of equal opportunities in the Czech Republic and their impact onto technical professions. The main subject of the paper is the description of a project of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science that explores the phenomenon of diminishing numbers of the female students at technical universities and then suggests the possible improvements of this situation.
