The authors describe the process of developing a 3D meter designed for magnetic field mapping in MR Image Reconstruction (MREIT). As the anticipated application of MREIT involves the factor of an environment with strong electromagnetic disturbance, it is necessary to use a measurement method insensitive to such conditions. The most significant spurious signals affecting the process of measurement come from the supply mains and switched supply sources. In order to suppress these influences, the authors utilize the principle of synchronous detection in a lock-in amplifier; the amplifier facilitates the suppression of these spurious disturbing signals and enables the selection of the required ones. In the designed 3D magnetic field meter, Hall probes are used for the measurement of magnetic induction. At the beginning of the measurement, the measuring device automatically corrects the reference signal phase shift for the maximum amplitude of the output direct voltage; also, the influence of Earths magnetic field is compensated. The magnetic field map measured using the 3D meter is used for the reconstruction of material properties of the measured sample.
