This article presents a practical test of a new method of interference reduction in the Wigner-Ville distribution. Starts and stops of a ventilator were used as a generator of acoustic non-stationary signal. Tested algorithm is based on multiple Smoothed Pseudo Wigner-Ville distributions : differently smoothed time-frequency planes are compared and, for every point, a cross-term free value is calculated on the basis of optimal smooth estimation. The proposed approach is compared with other existing algorithms. Appropriate quantitative measures are used to demonstrate the promising results of the proposed method on practical implementation.
