V současném architektonickém navrhování, ve výuce a ve stavební praxi, se upřednostňuje filoso- fie, která akceptuje pouze modernismus. Tento dominantní přístup v současné architektuře má pro architektonickou profesi negativní dopady, ve formě nedostatečného vzdělání a profesní nepřipravenosti architektů. Důsledky tohoto stavu jsou ovšem mnohem většího rozsahu. Týkají se zejména katastrofického stavu modernismem zničených současných měst, architektury a životního prostředí. Řešením tohoto stavu je zavedení alternativy, ve formě akreditované výuky klasické architektury a tradicionalismu. Také existuje možnost znovuotevření výuky architektonického stylu Beaux-Arts, který byl vytlačen modernistickými tendencemi, vzniklými po první světové válce. Dominance modernismu pokračuje dodnes. Výuka klasické architektury, jako alternativy k modernismu, se praktikuje na škole architektury Univerzity Notre Dame v USA. Skutečnost, že z této architektonické školy vycházejí mimořádně připravení architekti, reaguje na zvýšený zájem investorů o tradicionalistickou architekturu a urbanismus, zejména o styl Nového urbanismu. Kromě této univerzity existují další instituce a jednotlivci, kteří tradicionalismus podporují a propagují. Jedná se zejména o Institut klasické architektury a umění v New Yorku, nebo Mezinárodní síť pro tradiční výstavbu, architekturu a urbanismus, se sídlem v Londýně. Kromě řízené výuky tradicionalismu také začínají vznikat na dnešních školách architektury tradicionalisticky zaměřené workshopy, sympozia a letní školy.

In contemporary architectural design, teaching and building practice, such philosophy is preferred, which accepts only modernism. This dominant approach in contemporary architecture has a negative impact on the architectural profession, in the form of insufficient education and professional unpreparedness for ar- chitects. However, the consequences of this state of affairs are much larger. They mainly relate to the cata- strophic state of contemporary cities, architecture and the environment caused by the modernist ideology. The remedy might be the introduction of an alternative, in the form of accredited teaching of classical architecture and traditionalism. There is also a possibility of re-introduction of the Beaux-Arts architectural style, which was suppressed by the modernist tendencies that arose after the First World War. The dominance of modernism continues to this day. Teaching classical architecture, as an alternative to modernism, is practiced at the Notre Dame University's School of Architecture in the United States. The fact that this architectural school is based on exceptionally prepared architects reflects the increased interest of investors in traditionalist architecture and urbanism, especially in the New Urbanism style. In addition to this university, there are other institutions and individuals that promote traditionalism, among them the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art in New York, or the International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism, based in London. In addition to special traditionalist courses, architecture, traditionalist workshops, symposia, and summer schools are begin- ning to emerge in today's mainstream schools.
