Originální abstrakt
The study presents numerical modeling of cold field emitters (CFEs), specifically silicon pyramids coated with tungsten, using COMSOL Multiphysics. It examines how emitter geometry and surface contaminants impact electric field distribution and emission properties, with emphasis on areas near the emitter tip and along the scintillator edge. Results reveal that even minor changes in tip geometry or contamination can significantly alter field intensity, potentially affecting emitter performance. These findings provide insight into optimizing CFE designs, accounting for imperfections that influence emission stability and efficiency.
