This study examines the impact of non-intentional electromagnetic interference on the reliability of Global Positioning System (GPS) within emergency vehicles, particularly ambulances. GPS is crucial for navigation, coordination, and communication in emergency response scenarios. Interference from onboard electrical equipment poses significant challenges to GPS functionality. Using a spectral analyzer, the research focuses on the 1 - 2 GHz band, including GPS L1, L2, and L5 bands, to identify sources of interference. The results reveal that specific electronic systems within the vehicles emit interference at levels sufficient to degrade GPS performance. The findings emphasize the need for a comprehensive analysis of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standards and highlight the importance of addressing these interference issues to ensure reliable GPS functionality. This measurement observation contributes to enhancing GPS reliability in emergency response operations, ultimately improving public safety and operational efficiency.
