BUT won the prestigious HR Award
BUT won the prestigious HR Award
On February 12, 2021, the Brno University of Technology won the HR Award for international human resources management. The European Commission thus confirmed the position of the Brno University of Technology among European scientific research institutions. Mendel University and one of the faculties of Masaryk University together with CEITEC MU already have the HR Award among Brno universities. The Brno University of Technology applied for this international evaluation for the entire university at the end of 2019 and, after more than a year, succeeded in the certification process, without objections and without comments.
"This award confirms the University's commitment to strengthening care for the development and improvement of human resources management conditions in accordance with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, and in particular the commitment to fair and transparent procedures for the recruitment and evaluation of researchers," it stands in a letter from the European Commission addressed to BUT.
The documents requested by the European Commission from the Brno University of Technology included, among other things, an analysis of the compliance between the requirements of the Charter and the Code with reality and the so-called Action Plan to set the appropriate staffing strategy to achieve standards for staff development of researchers and corresponding university processes. The newly acquired HR Award can significantly help BUT to acquire a higher number of foreign experts and researchers and to increase the overall international prestige of the school.
Currently, 26 institutions have this award at their disposal in the Czech Republic.
"HR Award means
connection with a pan-European network of research organizations
, increasing the international visibility of the university and, among other things, a bonus for evaluating research projects, already in the Czech Technology Agency programs, MEYS operational programs, European Union framework programs such as Horizon 2020 and Horizont Europe and in others,“ the BUT Quaestor Ladislav Janíček, who coordinated the process of obtaining the HR Award at the university, indicated another advantage of the award.
An implementation phase is now created for BUT, which will last for two years, when an internal evaluation will be sent to the European Commission for the purpose of reassessing the award. More information about the HR Award can be found
