Publish openly in 2024

One way to publish for free in open access mode at the BUT is to use APC tokens.

BUT is a member of the National Centre for Electronic Information Resources CzechELib. This centre has negotiated transformation agreements with 10 publishers. As a result, 65 articles and 11 papers in proceedings were supported in 2023 using APC tokens at no additional cost to the BUT. The BUT thus saved more than 5 million CZK.

This year you can use APC tokens under the same conditions. Details on how to publish and the rules of each publisher can be found at: https://www.vut.cz/en/rad/openscience/open-access/publication-methods/open-journals

Most publishers also offer the option of licensing published articles under Creative Commons CC-BY. Thus, it is possible to meet the requirements of some projects (Horizon Europe, OP JAK, TAČR, etc.) to publish in open mode.
