Podstatou navrhovaného projektu je výzkum v oblasti moderních metod aplikované matematiky s cílem nalezení nových výsledků využitelných při řešení problémů zejména technické praxe. V souladu se zaměřením jednotlivých odborů ústavu se budeme věnovat zpracování digitálních obrazů, řešení diferenciálních rovnic, statistice, optimalizaci a aplikacím algebry a diferenciální geometrie v robotice. Jedná se o pokračování výzkumu, který na Ústavu matematiky probíhá řadu let a i nadále v něm budou zapojeni studenti DSP Aplikovaná matematika.
