Original Abstract
This article deals with an estimate of warranty costs for a passenger car that is based on results of a research of behaviour of the customers. The included procedure is applicable for an initial estimate of warranty costs or analysis regarding the extent of two-dimensional warranty to be provided. Possibilities of practical use of the proposed method are demonstrated on an example of estimate of warranty costs of a lower medium class passenger car manufactured in the Czech Republic. Within this project, several hundreds of users of appropriate type of a car were interviewed to identify an average mileage done by the car during one year of operation. The results of survey were assessed statistically and used for an analysis of an influence of changes of basic parameters of the warranty (guaranteed calendar time of use and guaranteed time of operation) on the level of warranty costs.
