Corrosions of inorganic materials

FCH-DCO_KODAcad. year: 2011/2012

"Corrosion and corrosion protection" follows the master degree subject "Corrosion of materials " giving students the newest information especially theoretical knowledge and understanding of latest findings in corrosion science to enable them to solve independently the problems of basic materials research.
Kinds of corrosion attack, chemical and electrochemical corrosion, atmospheric corrosion, degree of corrosivity of steels, Zn, Cu, Al; corrosion in gases at high temperatures; kinetics of oxidation; Pilling's - Bedworth's rule; electrochemical force series; curves of polarization; electrical double-layer; corrosion cells; passivity of metals; Pourbaix'es diagrams; corrosion of concrete and ferro-concrete; corrosion due to stray current; the choice of corrosion protection types; influence of material's type and construction's type; temporary corrosion protection; inhibitors; preserving agents; corrosion protection by metallic and non-metallic layers; pre-treatment of metal surfaces before coating process; levels of quality of protective coatings.
