Information about competitors

The subject is focused on gaining the information about the competition by legal and ethic way. The adoption of analytical process of gained information is the emphasis in this course together with process of gaining the added value – the new awareness about the competition.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will get the knowledge about approaches of getting information about competitive firm.

Prerequisites

The knowledge of organization and managerial functions of firms (basic level), the knowledge of work with PC and Internet (basic level).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures consist of an explanation of basic principles, methodology of the discipline, problems and their solutions.
Exercises promote the practical mastery of subject presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Conditions for passing an exam: Knowledge of taught topics and their practical application.

Topics of lectures is as follows:
Introduction, offensive concept KBF.
The strategic importance of information in the KB.
The concept of information in KB
Determination of the necessary information for the TOP management
Sources, methods of acquiring and analyzing information
Trade secret and information protection
Specific information system of the company (Spefis)
Organizational structure of the Spefisu
Spefis incorporation into the organizational structure of the company
General and specific requirements for staffing of the Spefis.

The understanding of information systems dilemma necessary for gaining the information about competition and prove students with knowledge of legal competitive information gathering.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
