Spanish conversation class - Advanced

This course targets conversation, presentation and argumentation on different topics. The course syllabus can be changed according to the tutor. Main topics are family, work, health, future plans.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student deepens his/her skills mostly in communicating. The most revised skill is speech and conversation. Th student knows how to interact with a native speaker without any major problems. The student knows how to express opinions on common topics. Is able to listen to different opinions and compare them. Is able to express cause, feelings, preferences and emotions on most common topics. Is able to give opinion on future things or the past even at hypothetical level. The student increases his/her vocabulary and acquisition of vocabulary in new fields. The student improves his/her presentation skills, because very often had to present in front of the class. The student knows about food, shopping, typical day, family, school, free time, reading, music, TV, fashion, travelling, health, career, future plans. The level achieved is B2 focused almost solely on communication and speaking.

Prerequisites

Student by měl před tímto kurzem absolvovat BYS4 nebo mít úroveň (B2 –) dle ERR.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Vocabulary is practised in an interactive way, with emphasis on conversation and cultural backgroung of Spanish speaking countries. Teaching in the form of debates following the instructions of tutor.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students attend classes regularly and actively participate in class (no more than 3 absences). If the student has more than 3 absences during the semester, then an end-of-course oral test must be taken. The above mentioned is valid unless otherwise specified by the tutor.

The aim of this course is to practice speaking language by conversations about actual themes.

1 Week – Introducing oneself, What is success, personal data, from failure to success.
2 Week – Family. My family. Getting along with family members, life cycles, trusting your loved ones.
3 Week – My home/house. House work. Gardening. Thoughts about home or house.
4 Week – Shopping. Is shopping fun or not. Types of shopping. Virtual tour to a shopping centre.
5 Week – My typical day/Week/Year. Weekend activities. What would I do with 300.000,- CZK
6 Week – Reading. What do I read most. Kinds of literature. What I wouldn´t read. Pros and cons of reading
7 Week – Leisure and freetime. What cultural activities do I like. What makes a “good film”. Types of art and opinion on it. Preferences regarding culture and art.
8 Week – Holiday travelling. Places you have been to and places you would like to visit. Where would I go and where I wouldn´t .
9 Week – Friends and acquaintances. My friends. Who would you like to meet. What makes a good friend. Unpleasant experiences with friendship.
10 Week – Health. My health. Good and bad manners. Nutrition. How to start eating healthier,
11 Week – What am I afraid of? Will the world end ? – why. How to live without “stress”
