Course detail

Building Services II and Technical Infrastructure

FAST-AT02Acad. year: 2014/2015

The purpose of course is to familiarize students with basics of the internal microclimate theory and its creation by using systems of heating and air conditioning. The subject immediately follows the subject building services I (Plumbing systems and wiring installations). The subject is designed to enable application student´s knowledge for complex solution task within complex projects and atelier work at all stages of project documentation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student will have after successful absolving of the study program architecture comprehensive overview of basic knowledge of issues heating and ventilation of buildings to the extent necessary to decision-making at the conceptual solution of buildings. Gets information about solving this systems in efficient building. The student will be able to establish requirements for heat output for heating and ventilation. He will be able to choose heat source and incorporate requirements connected with this in the structural design of the building. Following to the method of ventilation he will be able to incorporate requirements connected with this in the structural design of the building. He will have overview about space requirements of boiler rooms and engine rooms and construction requirements on this kind of space.

Prerequisites

The basic thermal technical assessment of building structures.Heat and mass transfer. Air proprieties.

Co-requisites

Protection against noise in buildings.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. The lectures are given an interpretation problems and model solutions. In practice, students address topics presented on the given building (design, calculations).
