Art project

The art project demonstrates the student’s ability of independent artistic work completed in the field of study. The theme is a sound recording or mastering of an audio recording; the student chooses a topic of the project him/herself and submits it to the supervisor for approval.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student will be able to:
- individually create an audio recording in the studio or another acoustic space or create the mastering of such recording,
- use the knowledge acquired in previous courses at the bachelor phase of study,
- create documentation for recording,
- justify the techniques and procedures used in creating the recording,
- defend the work before a committee.

Prerequisites

Knowledge is required at the current stage of master study.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Evaluation of study results follows Rules for Studies and Examinations of BUT and Dean's Regulation to the Rules for Studies and Examinations of BUT. Credit is given for creation of an independent art project and its defence before the committee.

Course curriculum

The creation of an individual artistic project, usually an individually or collectively created professional audio recording of genre designated by the teacher, i.e. the acquisition of a basic multi-track recording, its mixing, and final mastering; minimum time range of the recording is about 15 minutes.

Forms of the checked instructions are specified by a regulation issued by the guarantee of the course and updated for every academic year.
