Understanding of pedagogical capabilities for the purpose of instruction of engineering courses.

To be interested in given problems, and to have the minimum knowledge in pedagogic problems.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.Teaching mehods are preaching, discussion, one single presentation during the course.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Requirements for completion of a course are specified by a regulation issued by the lecturer responsible for the course and updated for every year.

Course curriculum

    Syllabus of lectures:
    1. The subject field history and general issues of the school system. Engineering pedagogy as an educational course.
    2. Education, its functions, goals, forms, components, means, and methods. Domains of pedagogy.
    3. Pedagogical research and its methods. Basic pedagogical documents, educational programmes. System of education in the Czech Republic.
    4. General didactics. Domain didactics. Secondary school pupil. Personality of a teacher.
    5. Subject field curriculum. Curriculum problematics. Environment factors.
    6. Theoretical rudiments of teaching and learning. Methods and forms of teaching. Didactical principles.
    7. Projecting and implementing teaching. Motivation. Communication.
    8. Educational goals and their implementation.
    9. Educational process discipline. Causes, discipline measures, persecution. Education results evaluation.
    10. Introductory course on special pedagogy: classification, rudimentary terminology, consultancy system.
    11. Alternative school system.
    12. Vocational courses teacher preparation.

Aims

To familiarise students with introduction into education process problems, definition of the pedagogic matter and a set of the terms. To devote information on possibilities of implementation this knowledge in pedagogic practice. To inform about fundamentals of engineering courses didactic, didactic transform of science cognition into engineering courses education, educational aims of engineering courses and creative using of all didactic tools.
