The content of study is focussed on forming the doctorand in the field of architecture as an expert in building structures, emphasis being put on changes currently taking place in building.

Aims

The aim is to make the student in the doctor study program acquainted with new trends in the field of bearing structures of building constructions, that can be applied to new development and redevelopment. The student deepens his knowledge of the theory and design of bearing structures of building constructions. By agreement with the students, emphasis can be put on the issue studied.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance of lectures is obligatory. Missed lectures can be made up for only by arrangement with the teacher.

Structures in architecture, examples and solutions of interesting new buildings (metal, concrete, masonry, wood structures); use of new kinds of concrete, visual concrete.
Bearing structures of low-rise houses of natural materials,cellular structures; non-traditional building materials (unburnt clay, straw, etc.), their properties, conditions for their use in new and reconstructed buildings.
Bearing structures of sacred buildings, structural systems of modern buildings.
Static investigation of buildings, diagnostic methods.
Failures of buildings, causes, manifestations.
Repair of buildings, new methods of reconstructing and underpining buildings.
Clearance of buildings, conditions, procedures, recycling.
