Language of Architecture

FA-DA1Acad. year: 2023/2024

Students are trained in the analysis of architecture as a non-verbal language. The outcome is an analysis of selected regional or individual form language (or pattern language), both written and graphic: 5 pages of essay, 10 drawings, a presentation and a poster in PDF.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The results are classified by a single mark reflecting the evaluation of both the seminar work and the oral presentation.
Routine control consultations taking place at tutorials.

Aims

An exercise in the implementation of architectural theory into the building design.
Students are trained in the analysis of architectural language with their specific grammar and vocabulary, as well as in their mutual comparation, and individual further emulation.
