The course introduces basic knowledge with a link to managerial functions corresponding to the basic concepts of management theory and organizational theory. The first part focuses on the knowledge of the basic managerial functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling, to an extent appropriate to most universities and schools of similar orientation. The second part introduces students to the basic concept of organizing with a link to the issues of organizing multinational companies, including future trends in management development.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Completion of the subject:
In order to be awarded credit, active participation in the exercises during the presentation and subsequent discussion of the seminar papers is required (among other things). During the semester, individual activities in the exercises are evaluated using a point system, which is updated for each semester according to the types of tasks.
A student must obtain at least 60% of points to be awarded credit.
Students can earn points for:• semester work• presentation of semester work.
Exam requirements: knowledge of the lectured material and its practical application.
The form of the exam is written, the examiner decides on the oral exam on the basis of a tie in the written exam.
The exam is classified according to the ECTS scale, in order to successfully pass it, you need to get at least 50% points. To the overall evaluation of the subject takes into account the evaluation of the work during the entire semester.

Aims
Students will gain basic knowledge about management and the practical use of management tools and techniques in organizations, including an introduction to new trends in organizational design, international management and corporate governance.

The study of comprehensive knowledge of the fundamentals of management theory and its various interpretations. The core of the course is an introduction to the individual functions of management: planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Each function is explained in detail. Attention will also be paid to contemporary approaches applied in the practice of organizations, such as network organization, international management and corporate governance.1.The nature, purpose and practice of management. Definition of management, managerial work. The importance of management in practice, reasons for studying management.2.Development trends in management. Introduction of management schools influencing the development of management. Presentation of different concepts of management development.3.Environment of management. External environment and internal environment. Implications for managerial decisions. SWOT analysis.
