Bouldering

Beginners will learn a basic climbing technique so that they will be able to individually practise easy boulders, move across the climbing wall and develop their strength in the boulder centre using the equipment such as a rope, horizontal bar and campus. Advanced boulderers will learn how to master pre-marked boulders, train climbing stamina using the entire wall space, build new boulders and train themselves on the above-mentioned equipment.

Entry knowledge

Personal equipment that boulderers need are special shoes "climbing shoes" (either your own, or in limited quantities they can be hired for a fee/one use. It is necessary to use solid or liquid magnesium (gel, beads, not powder magnesium). It is advisable to take your own towel as you do for the fitness gym.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Credit- based on active participation in lessons, regular attendance together with registration in the attendance list (two unexcused participations are allowed). One credit is granted in accordance with the Directive No. 17/2019 concerning the teaching of Physical Education.

Credits - controlled attendance, registration of attendance in the attendance sheets. Active participation in the lessons. Two unexcused absences are allowed. Compensation for absence only within bouldering lessons after the previous consultation with the teacher and with the agreement of the teacher (free capacity of the wall).

Aims

Bouldering is climbing without collateral to reach relatively safe heights (5 meters). Bouldering is a climbing discipline that excels in dynamic motion, variety of positioning of body parts and the work with trainee’s own weight and centre of gravity. Bouldering provides training of climbing technique, strength, endurance and mental control that can be applied to the actual climbing on the climbing wall or in the terrain. Bouldering is a basis of year-round preparation for all climbing disciplines; it is also an appropriate tool for practising strength, flexibility and agility for other types of sports.
