Structural mechanics

Advance topics on FEA. Introduction to nonlinear mechanics. Tensors, strain and stress measures, coordinate systems, solution methods tangent stiffness matrix, material and geometrical stiffness, unbalanced forces. Linear and nonlinear buckling post critical analysis, mechanisms, cables, membranes. Modelling of the structure-soil interaction.

3.Fundamentals of nonlinear mechanics
Strain and stress measures, total Lagrangian and updated Lagrangian methods
4.Numerical solution of nonlinear problems.
Newton-Raphson procedure and its modifications,
deformation control, arc length.

Material stiffness matrix, stress stiffness matrix,
influence of nonlinear members of the strain tensor.
6.Evaluation of unbalanced nodal forces
